Luggers Hall and its gardens
was originally built by Alfred Parsons, the
famous Victorian Royal Acadamy artist,
who
along with other famous artists such as Frank
Millet and John Singer Sargent lived in Broadway
in the
latter part of the 19th and early part
of the 20th century and were responsible for the
design of several of
Broadway's secret
gardens. The garden at Luggers Hall with rustic
paving and topiary, including a
magnificent
battlement hedge, is typical Arts and
Crafts.
